Company History
Scalora was founded in 1973 by Peter Scalora Sr. as a small-scale landscape maintenance company employing a single pickup truck. His sons, Michael and Peter Scalora, took over the family business in the early 1990’s, expanding their scope of services to include landscape construction and ornamental planting. The Scalora brothers inherited their father’s strong work ethic, expertise, attention to detail, and customer relationships, as is evidenced by our loyal client base, some of whom have been with Scalora for 50+ years.
Since then, Scalora has evolved into a robust 10-crew operation with 300+ residential/commercial maintenance accounts and a resume of countless projects installed throughout North Jersey. Scalora places great emphasis on training and mentoring our employees, where many of our skilled foreman and laborers have been with the company for 20-30+ years.
As contractors dedicated to sound design principles and the elevation of their craft, the Scalora brothers have understood the value of employing the services of a licensed landscape architect since the time of their initial expansion. For over 30 years, Scalora has operated as a design-build outfit qualified to serve the project needs of our clients in nearly all aspects of landscape architecture and construction.
